TDF Press Release Congratulating TRS Ministers for Resigning
July 3, 2005
It gives great pleasure to the Telangana Development Forum, USA to
announce the complete and un-conditional moral support to any decision
taken by the Telangana Rashtra Samiti (TRS) on the eve of American
Independence Day. TDF-USA congratulates a valient decision, if
carried through, to seek justice and independence for Telangana by
availing all peaceful means possible.
TDF President Madhu Kakulavaram pointed out "TDF-USA supports any
political party or person that puts forward an active plan and seeks
advancement of Telangana agenda".
The TRS must be congratulated on a bold stand they wish to take at
this juncture where the Chief Minister himself is acting in a
disparaging manner with open hostility toward Telangana. Brushing
aside the concerns of injustice while attempting to carry the water
from Krishna River to Rayalaseema and continuing to build on
Pulicintala without attempting to provide water for the left canal,
and re introducing power tariff for those under borewells are all
indications of a very planned covert action to undermine the interests
of Telangana.
TDF-USA believes that it is high time for the Congress representatives
from Telangana to respect the mandate of the people atleast now by
raising above their narrow self interests. TDF deplores the comments
made by Mr. Keshava Rao as APCC president at the TANA mock assembly
who created a mockery by his own statements. It is false to say that
'all NRIs are against Telangana' -- there are thousands of Telangana
NRIs who demand Telangana now. He should have waited to make any such
judgements as TANA is heavily influenced by andhra participants alone.
Therefore, the TDF-USA expects people from TRCC to raise above their
self interests and demand Telangana state with one voice and march in
synch with TRS.
The alienation of TRS from the government is a further proof that the
development of Telangana can only occur only within the framework of a
T-State. Nothing less is acceptable.
