2021 COVID-19 ReliefHELP TELANGANA!We have been seeing in the news and hearing about so many people suffering from Covid and the many shocking deaths due to COVID, back home. The situation back home is devastating. COVID-19 second wave impact has been so alarming and we have been receiving requests from various districts in Telangana for assistance with Medical supplies as shortage of oxygen, beds, medicines, masks, ICU beds, oxymeters, transportation, etc is straining the medical system. We are fortunate to be able to extend our help and we need to act immediately to save lives back home in this “hour of need”. Our current COVID-19 Relief effortsGenerous TDF members sponsored and still sponsoring for PPE kits and other medical supplies in Osmania and Gandhi Hospitals. We are proud and grateful to our OGKTMA doctors and other alumni groups and AAPI for helping back home.Currently, TDF USA in collaboration with Nalgonda.org group, already started Covid 2.0 Relief work from past 2 weeks in Greater Nalgonda and Hyderabad and RR districts. This initiative has started relief efforts in full swing on the ground, in collaboration with Nalgonda, Suryapet, and Yadadri Districts Administration (Collectors and Police Commissioners) and along with few other NGOs to support people in different ways. BUT THIS IS NOT ENOUGH!!! What more can we do now? We have been receiving requests for help from all other rural areas of Telangana too. The newly formed districts do not have hospitals, or not having enough beds or any ICU BEDS, and shortage of medical supplies and ambulance facilities at existing hospitals. People are forced to go to hospital in district headquarters which can be a long travel. Telangana Development Forum, TDF USA is now initiating “2021 COVID-19 Relief” Program for Rural Telangana in this hour of need. Let us unite for this noble cause and show our empathy towards our motherland and help them fight this challenging situation. Many NGOs and community service groups are doing their part and many of us have been donating to various other initiatives and organizations BUT IT IS NOT ENOUGH. Each initiative is like a drop in the ocean BUT together it does make a difference. We are and should be grateful for where we are today. And let us contribute generously to give life to as many people as possible back home. TDF USA Executive committee team has been working hard in collaborating with service-oriented people here and back home. We are gathering and prioritizing the needs, talking to district collectors, Govt hospitals, DHMOs, Police, etc. TDF leadership has established plans with NGOs back home on relief work implementation in Telangana with the help of Govt officials, prioritizing based on where the need is in rural Telangana.
